The purpose of this paper is to research two cases where a teacher was denied a promotion and accused the public school system of discrimination based on their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual preference, or age. Then, find an example for two different criteria, one for each case. Last, state three reasons that her / his accusation could be legally supported after you identify the supporting case. Research two cases in which a teacher was denied a promotion based on discrimination The first case is EEOC v. Thomasville City Schools, Civil Action No. 1:10-CV-00686 filed in the Middle District of North Carolina. In 2007 and 2008 the school system failed to hire Arlene Lent for two assistant principal positions because of she was fifty-four years old. The system selected two younger that was less qualified candidates according to EEOC and Lent. She was a teacher in the same school where she earned her North Carolina principal license with sixteen years of education experience. Lent continues to teach in the school district.
